Botox in a bottle?

Everyone is looking for the fountain of youth, with injections like Botox and fillers, many of my clients incorporate facials with these procedures to keep wrinkles at bay!  The problem is, if you aren't using the correct products at home, then you are undoing all of our hard work in the treatment room.  I recently took an amazing class on skincare ingredients and how they work within the skin to help give you the results you're looking for.  I'm going to focus on one ingredient a day and review what it does, why you should be using it and how it benefits the skin.
*** Just a side note, I want to let you know I am not trying to sell any products, I'm trying to give you the information so you can do your own research. I do have suggestions and you can contact me for info concerning those if interested. One skincare line is not going to have every single ingredient, so you may have to mix it up. Also?  If you're using drugstore brands, those may say it conta…

"Wavy Hair - Don't Care" Hair Tutuorial

Many of my clients that visit me at the spa know that I am a skincare therapist, but what you may not know is that I have a cosmetology license and can do hair too! In college, I thought I'd go to Cosmetology school and end up doing hair and makeup, but it turned out that I had more of a passion for waxing and skincare.

As a result, I have gotten better at doing my own hair and am often asked how I get my beachy, wavy curls and how they last all day long.  I am about to let you in on my 10 minute hair secret that will last you almost a week.  Yes, you read that right, a week, ok, ok, more like 5 days.  This week I shampooed my hair on Monday, let it air dry (with products), and curled it.  I had my "wavy hair, don't care" look until this morning, and it still looked good, but since I was directing a wedding, figured I better wash it.  haha  I started doing my hair like this on vacation a few years ago and my husband, Adam, loves it!  He actually asks me NOT …

Angel Card Readings

I have always been intuitive, but started taking it seriously when my mentor told me three years ago that I would be incorporating it and mediumship into my business.  I never thought I’d be communicating with angels, guides and deceased loved ones, but here I am three years later, doing just that!
I get asked all the time exactly what is an angel card reading?  Angel card readings are a way to bring you healing, gentle guidance and a renewed sense of purpose and passion.  I use the angel cards, along with my intuition to connect with your guardian angels and with the divine!
A reading can be simply one question or many questions.  I ask that you have a few questions in mind when coming in, or we can do a general guidance.   Angel card readings work so well and are so popular because the angels want to help us all awaken to our power and purpose, so they enthusiastically guide us both  through the help of an angel reader. We always have the free will to chang…

Cleaning Makeup Brushes

With the change of seasons, also brings about changes in your skin....or does it? If you're noticing breakouts, blemishes & blackheads happening, your dirty makeup brushes could be the culprit!  When you don't properly cleanse your makeup brushes regularly, you're applying bacteria, oil, and dead skin cells to your face! Yuck!

It's easy to forget about cleaning your makeup brushes because you use them almost everyday, but you don't actually see the hidden bacteria on them.  And if you're reapplying during the day, that makeup on the brush is multiplying!

Makeup brushes aren't cheap, so you'll want them to last as long as possible.  Taking care of them by giving them a good shampoo will help ensure the life of your brushes and help from cross contaminating bacteria into your makeup,(also expensive!).

 >>>>>>SO, how does one clean their brushes?<<<<<<<<<<<
You'll be amazed at how much …

DIY Baseball Wreath

Want to learn how to make this baseball wreath?  I made one for my door on opening day and I want to share with you how easy it is to make one! I found a tutorial on Pinterest HERE. I wanted to write my own because mine is slightly different.

Here's what you'll need:  Wire Hanger Baseballs (between 11-14) Ribbon of your choice Drill (with long drill bit) Wire cuttersFloral wire

I bought a bucket of 8 baseballs from Wal-mart for a decent price, but then bought 4 more individuals to have a total of 12.  As I was putting together the wreath, I realized, I could have added more, but I'm glad we stuck with 12 because the wreath is pretty heavy and I didn't want it to create an "oval" shape instead of a round wreath shape.
First, you'll want to drill holes in each of your baseballs. Make sure your drill bit is long enough to go straight through the ball and big enough to make a hole for your wire hanger to go through.  If you're like me, you ask…

Finding the right path with a spiritual reading

Do you feel as though you are not going down the right path?
Do you feel that you have blocks in any area of your life?
Do you suffer from sadness, depression or stress?
Maybe you just want an uplifting change in the way you see life?
Then a spiritual reading may be for you!
I've been posting on Facebook  about my angel card or my spiritual readings and I want to clarify exactly what these readings are and how they may benefit you or someone you know.  They are so hard to explain because each reading seems to be so different for all of my clients, but to start, I'll tell you a bit about myself.
I am still learning to use my gift from God to help others and bring about awareness that we are certainly not alone on our journeys in life.  I've always been intuitive; I think we all are if you are open to believing it isn't just a coincidence that your friend called right after you thought about her. I've struggled with allowing my intuition to lead my…

A Bride's Guide to Wedding Tipping

Wedding season is officially in full swing in Charleston, SC and as a day-of coordinator, I get asked all the time which wedding vendors need to be tipped.
Most southern belles consider it rude to mention money or tipping for that matter, so it is always a sensitive subject.  I cringe when I'm at the spa and someone asks me what people normally tip me. I usually stammer out something like, "Whatever you feel the service is worth, but it is certainly not necessary!".  Some people tip me and some don't, there is no right or wrong answer, but I'm going to give a break down of what is the expected standard (according to such etiquette sources like Emily Post & Martha Stewart Weddings).

First, you will want to review all of your contracts. Sometimes those gratuities are already added in for you in the final price. These are usually only on the catering or bartending contracts.

Now, let's break it down per vendor:

Baker:  Usually the fee + delivery…

Framing the face

Isn't this model gorgeous? Her face looks flawless and beautiful.  If you'll notice though, her eyebrows are ever so slightly not exactly the symmetrical and her eyeliner is used to create a more almond shaped eye.  A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog about contouring your face to create an illusion and make your face look more angular like a model's face in photos.  In this blog, we'll talk about how important it is to frame the face with the right eyebrows and eye liner.
Let's talk about brows first.  First of all, please don't shave or over-tweeze your brows.  BUT, you need to do something with them, whether your wax, tweeze or thread them, remember, they are sisters, not twins. Overly thin brows are a sign of aging, therefore, thinner brows will age your face fast!  Lush, thick brows are in style right now and even if you're like me and weren't born with super luxe brows, you're in can fake them!
    I'll show you the …
